Why Uganda?

The mission of 58:12 Uganda is to care for the most vulnerable, be a healing place, and provide hope by being disciples of the Gospel of Jesus. While not officially launched until 2024, the work being done in Nakifuma started in 2017, with the vision to build a house that will act as safe shelter for a local grandmother and local children. The house was built in 2018 and has housed more than 12 children and adults in need.

Seeing additional need for local children, in addition to safe shelter, led to the formation of child sponsorships. This gives sponors the opportunity to donate to a child in need by providing funds for with school fees and supplies, medical assistance, and in some cases, essential home supplies.

Silvester and Katelyn Lubwama are the directors of 58:12 Uganda. Visit their personal website here to learn more about their story and how to sign up for child sponsorships.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  James 1:27

How We're Serving

Child Sponsorships

Without financial assistance, most children in rural communities in Uganda are forced to skip education and resort to child labor, early marriage, and no reading or writing skills. Our vision is to support children and families through education, medical assistance, basic needs, counseling, spiritual guidance, and in special cases, sheltering.

Safe Shelter

In 2018, a home was built and continues to be a place of shelter for Robina and the children that come through her doors. It is estimated she has watched over 50 grandchildren in her lifetime and at least 12 since since 2018. She is supported through permanent shelter and full financial support from donations.

Family Support Program

In a very short period of time, this family has lost 4 family members including their dad/husband, who was the provider. We are praying for them, sending monthly financial assistance, and have enrolled some of the kids into our sponsorship program. We aim to share God’s love and hope to them by providing a better shelter and jobs for the adults.
