When Grace Church in Holmes County, Ohio began 58:12 Rescue, their goal was to help vulnerable women and children not only in Ohio but all around the world. After seeking God, praying and fasting; we felt led to send a team to Thailand to assess the needs and possibly start a 58:12 location there. The team spent a year in Bangkok for language training. During that time, they took a scouting trip to the city of Pattaya, a center for sex tourism in the country. After that visit, more prayer and a visit from Larry and Kendra, they felt confident God was calling them to move there after the year of language training was complete.
In August of 2017, the team relocated to Pattaya. The first four to six months were spent volunteering and working with foundations that were already established in the city to see if partnering with them would be an option. While volunteering, the team thought the best option was to start a foundation. So they are currently in the process of launching 58:12 Thailand.
58:12 Thailand has two main focuses. The first is to have multiple small family style homes for children who have been abandoned, abused or trafficked. The children will be in the homes short term or long term with the goal being to reunify them to their family or a foster family. The second goal is to be involved in the community. This includes doing children’s outreach, sports ministry, and offering trainings to families. The goal is to eventually have a community center where we can have various trainings, kids club, English classes, and after-school tutoring. We would also have the center available to other ministries for meetings, trainings, and seminars.
